2. Use Positive Reinforcement
- Always reward your puppy for coming when called. Use high-value treats, praise, or a favorite toy.
- Make coming to you a fun and rewarding experience.
3. Begin with Short Distances
- Start with your puppy a few feet away. Call their name in a happy tone and use the cue word.
- When they come, immediately reward them with treats and affection.
4. Use Movement & Excitement
- If your puppy hesitates, try crouching down or running a few steps backward. Dogs love to chase!
- Use an enthusiastic tone to make recall engaging.
5. Increase Distance & Distractions Gradually
- Once your puppy reliably comes inside the house, practice in a fenced yard or on a long leash.
